Our gig with the not-yet-famous Fiery Furnaces. (Cue name-dropping) I knew them because Amy knew Eleanor from back when she was Britt from Spoon's girlfriend. Now everytime I hear the Franz Ferdinand song "Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On" I tell whoever will listen that I knew her way back when. I set up the show for the Post, friends of ours touring out of Bloomington, Indiana. The drummer is one of the main Jagjaguwar and/or Secretly Canadian guys. We sent Jagjag/Secretly Canadian our record and they responded: "We like it, but we don't love it and we don't have the resources to put out records we don't love.". Fair enough. I remember getting a lot of compliments while hanging this poster around town.
